Coronado Family Session & Surprise Proposal│Bella + Casey

Have you ever heard of a normal family session turning into a surprise proposal? Well, I got to witness just that recently, and it was so incredibly sweet. 

Arica, the mama of Casey (boyfriend doing the proposing), reached out to me about shooting this family photoshoot turned proposal, and told me all about their plan. I was so down and really excited to see how it would all unfold. I gave her and Casey a few options for when Casey could propose, and let them know that I could cue it up, pose them in that particular way, and Voila! Surprise proposal!

We started out with basic family photos, and Bella (then girlfriend, now fiancé) had no clue what was to come. We got through all the different combinations of family shots we wanted, and then I ended the session with getting some photos of “just Case and Bella.” I guided them into a pose that was actually a set-up for the proposal, and then I asked Bella to turn around and face Casey.

The rest of the family stood right behind me and watched it all happen. Casey’s niece (who had no idea this was going to happen) was so happy that she even started crying. My heart!! Needless to say, Bella was so surprised and ecstatic (you HAVE to see the reaction shots!)

This is easily going down as one of my favorite proposals to date. So many congratulations to the happy (newly engaged) couple, and I am so excited to hear about their future wedding plans!
